Villgro Innovations Foundation is primarily an incubator of social enterprises that targets small and marginal farmer households. Villgro’s many activities are related to the primary incubation function such as business planning, building talent and capacity within start-up social enterprises, and providing networking and investment opportunities to social entrepreneurs. Besides this, Villgro also engages with entrepreneurs to develop their skills, and help build their entrepreneurial abilities. In 2009 Villgro, together with faculty at IIT Madras, the Knowledge Management team started work on putting together a Minor course on Social Entrepreneurship for engineering graduates. The Minor was first offered in 2009, and is now one of the most popular minor streams offered.
Villgro have impacted over 360,000 rural users with technology & solutions reaching the grassroots. They have identified and activated more than 2000 social innovators.

The Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, TISS came into existence after careful thought about the emerging needs of wider society to develop change leaders in the field of social sectors to create enterprises with social purpose. The two-year, full time, Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship (MA in SE) aims at training and developing change leaders who contribute to social progress. Students are expected to emerge as social entrepreneurs themselves in collaboration with the state, market and civil society institutions. A distinctive feature of the course curriculum is its inductive pedagogy blending classroom teaching and experiential learning through block fieldwork, assignments finding innovative solutions to social problems individually and through group exercises, in-depth examination of the strengths and weaknesses of social entrepreneurial activities across the world, interacting with successful social entrepreneurs.
CSIE organized a National Conference and Research Workshop on Technology, Innovation and Social Change with the TISS Center, and is jointly working on a research project 'Evaluation of Social Entrepreneurship education in India'.
MentorEdge, provides hand-holding, mentoring and networking support to aspiring and established entrepreneurs. It is a structured network of mentors and experts aimed at helping entrepreneurs through advisory support on various strategic and operational decisions.
MentorEdge is a initiative by Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), IIM Ahmedabad.
CIIE organize regular Face-to-face Mentor Rendezvous across major cities in India to facilitate the above process.
